Over the past 4 years, Apptio has implemented and run a SaaS based hybrid in-memory/on-disk analytics and transaction store (NoSQL) similar in concept to SAP’s “HANA” in 100% Pure Java. This video presents lessons learned and tricks discovered while coding and tuning the system – everything from multi-threading on 48 cores with a 120 GB Java heap and architecting an elastic compute and data grid to tuning a GWT (Google Web Toolkit) application.
